What are Ear Candles?

Ear candling, also called thermal-auricular therapy, is an alternative therapy that can improve general health and well-being. The client lies on their side and the candle is lit once it has been placed in the ear. The candle acts like a chimney effect drawing excess wax from the ear.

After-Care for Ear Candles

After an Ear Candling treatment your body will begin to get rid of unwanted products and toxins. This is your body’s natural reaction to your treatment and is a vital part of the detoxification process to restore balance. Because of this you may experience some of these temporary side effects:

  • Itchy Ears
  • Headache
  • Runny nose
  • Nasal and throat discharge and mucus
  • Increased urination or bowel movements
  • Increased energy levels

Over the next 48 hours you can alleviate the symptoms by

  • Drinking plenty of water
  • Reducing caffeine and alcohol intake
  • Eating light meals

Additional Notes

  • Avoid putting anything in your ears up to 48 hours after a treatment
  • Excess wax may work its way out of the ears following the treatment
  • If you are still suffering from nose and throat problems, look at reducing how much dairy produce you eat
  • Gently massage the lymph nodes
  • Use humming techniques for vibrational balancing
  • Use grounding techniques and meditation if you feel spaced out and ‘not in your body’
