About Reiki

Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy, an energy which is all around us. The energy is channelled from the universe not from the practitioners personal supply so they do not suffer from energy depletion. There is no belief system attached to Reiki so anyone can receive or learn to give a treatment.

Reiki works by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. In doing so reiki clears & straightens the energy pathways, allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.

The treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. It treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit, creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.

After-Care for Reiki

  • Following your treatment you may feel light headed, tired & dehydrated, your muscles may ache and it is also possible that you feel more emotional than usual.
  • It is important to drink plenty of water directly after the treatment and for the rest of the day to flush out toxins and waste from the tissues. Your treatment will release blockages & detoxify your body quite rapidly and this is what causes the above symptoms, which are often referred to as ‘Crisis Healing’.
  • Try and relax for the rest of the day/evening following your treatment, or at least do not undertake any heavy exercise for 24 hours.
